Do I have plans? Goals? I hope you're excited.
Towards the end of the year, I tend to get a bit anxious. Am I the only one? I also get excited at the same time because the New Year is approaching. But also...I get excited for Thanksgiving and most of all, Christmas!
It's probably one of the best times of the year...it's the most wonderful...*grin*
Anyway, about the anxiety...it's real. I get anxious about the New Year because number one, I turn a year older too fast (birthday is early), and second it's simply...a New Year.
Balancing my personal life with my work life has been such a blessing because I've been able to learn so much. Really. I'm learning how to be patient with the little garden I have with KIN & OATH. I'm tending to it the best that I can with what I have for now and with much care. Wouldn't it be nice to have it grow so fast? Maybe, maybe not...I'm actually grateful for the current pace.
I'm able to be present with each family I meet. I get to take time to be intentional with each client and their needs.
I don't feel the need nor will I ever want to rush with families that I get to encounter.
So even if it's a slow growing passion, I'm grateful for this garden that I have at this pace, which eventually will grow bigger.
So do I have plans? Goals? The answer is...of course.
The plan is to give my anxiety and worries to God, which I believe will ultimately be the open door to the goal.
The way I give those things up to God personally is to keep it simple...I pray. If I have time to worry, I have time to pray.
And I think prayer is looked down upon a lot...I think that prayer can seem "far away" or some "wish list" hoping that one day each wish will come true.
But I'll testify here. KIN & OATH is a very, very small business. And getting my foot in the door with my craft as a photographer is not easy at all. I feel that it just gets harder every year because there's just more that I have to hone in on in terms of learning
what it takes to be a photographer and to own your own business.
I have no complaints. I am actually super grateful to be able to learn all the layers to business. No matter how hard it can be sometimes, my passion for taking photos of families will never die.
Each family that I get to meet, I get to see grow. I get to see kids grow from being newborns to celebrating their first birthdays.
Every year so far I have seen my business grow in the most tiny ways ever. So when I look back, I see how each layer of learning how to serve through KIN & OATH has brought me new families. It can be from renewing my website image to the way I edit my photos, to expanding my creativity in taking the photos.
It's usually learning through the mundane things that help build a strong foundation. And it has definitely been through prayer that I am able to keep going with a true grateful heart.
So...the goal? It's to open up a studio for my clients. It's not just a studio, but a place where families can rest.
What does that even mean? Well...I will share that as the days get closer, hahaha.
Let's just say...parents will enjoy the space *wink*. Don't worry, your kids and babies will too <3
I think my clients deserve more than photos and prints. They deserve memories from their session, rest, fun, and care.
And so to the families that have booked me for their annual family photos or events, I am eternally grateful for you guys.
To those who are getting to know what KIN & OATH is about, I'm excited to get to you know and offer
the best services that I can through photography.
For the next year, I will do my best to stick to my plans daily so that eventually my goal for the next year
will be ready for you to enjoy and take rest.
Thank you again and again to those who have been with me throughout the small years.
I haven't forgotten anyone <3 I will continue to do my best to serve everyone the best that I can.
Love you all, and I will keep you guys updated. Let's get praying <3
